First time in my life I realize that most of us including myself do not know as for how to be away from the social media. I was in Mexico where I was invited to speak at Weddings & Events Pro Active Professionals Conference,2016. Even though it was refreshing to be there for the wonderful experience yet, all of us were trying over and over to connect to the social media platform so that we could share as we go each day.
We had the Wifi the very first day at the Luxury Bahia Principe Resorts in Tulum, Mexico. Next morning, we found out that towers had the biggest problem and had no idea how long it would take to connect back to the world which mean no WiFi.
I think we are in the age where we love to wake up checking messages and looking at the post on the social media platforms; we have forgotten how to be among our inner-self. I saw everyone talking about as when the Wifi would start working, where we can share and learn at the same time.
I decided to pen down my inspirations. Nature is the inspiration to write and pen down my thoughts. I loved the gazebo at the Luxury Bahia Principe Resorts beach and spent an hour there admiring the waves of an ocean with small crocodile around with the beautiful sound of birds. It was one of those moments that I wanted to capture and share with my new brides. I even envisioned one of my destination brides getting married there in the middle of tranquility.
Besides all, I could not even stop thinking about you all for a minute and felt helpless not being able to do a blog post for a week. Each morning was beautiful beginning with the wonderful host, speakers and other industry professionals who were as eager to share and learn, but that connection with you all was missing. Wanted to share the celebration of the Mexico Independence day at the resort but that connection with you all was not possible with towers under repair.
I wish I could say that we invented technology but seems like technology reinvented us to abide by its rules & bow to it.
Do you think that we are all slaves in the hand of technology where we feel a vacuum away from social media?
Love to hear what you have to say!
