I woke up this morning thinking about the day when I landed in this country that embraced me with open arm. It gave me beautiful memories with a sense of gratitude. I have a great admiration for all our veterans and service members.
Each day in our lives must remind us of the dedication, courage, and sacrifices of the veterans and service members. I understand what it takes to serve the country and sacrifices they all make because I experienced that life being a proud daughter of an Army personnel who served in Indian Army almost five decades ago.
So beautifully this quote by Elmer Davis resonates a reminder, “This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.”
Whereas we are proud of veteran Tammy Duckworth, who lost her both legs in Iraq War, but never gave up that hope and courage to lead her life in a meaningful way, serving nation from a public platform setting an example for all. At the same time, we should be mindful of those veterans who are facing challenges to cope with the particular life changes and are struggling to make ends meet.
I feel every day, we should all observe five minutes to say thanks for all.
